Walking with Jesus

I will walk with the Lord in the land of the Living Posted by Picasa

One of the current books I am reading to keep myself entertained during my train rides to work is entitled "Be A People Person" written by Pastor John C. Maxwell. Its an easy read and I certainly would recommed anyone to read it.

Whilst aiming to diligently complete reading the book, I came across a pointer that struck me -

Is my personal walk with Jesus up to date?

This question has embedded itself so deeply in my mind that I think about it everyday, for the past week. As the true meaning of the question began to settle in my heart, it provided a somewhat focused direction for my daily spiritual life.

Is my personal walk with Jesus up to date?

Suddenly I am hearing Jesus waking me up from my slumber and asking me to take a personal walk with Him.

I begin to ask myself questions like, "When was the last time I made a conscious effort to walk with Jesus without being preoccupied with prayer requests?"

"If I allowed myself to give totally to Jesus that moment, what would He reveal to me about my present life?"

"What would the experience be, to walk with my God in the land of the Living?"

"Which areas in my life are obstacles to achieving this desire?"

Is my personal walk with Jesus up to date?

Reflecting more prayerfully on my personal walk with Jesus, I found more reasons to read the Bible intently and regularly, to desire His words and to yearn for a share in His divinity. I look at the Crucifix and it reminds me how much God so love the world that He gave us His only Son for our benefit, our salvation. A love that is faithful to the end. A love that has no boundaries. A love that forgives each time I turn back to God. A love that is waiting. A love that is freely given to make us free!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank you for dying on the Cross for me. Help me to give myself totally to you each day so that I am able to walk with you freely and allowing you to speak to me. May you find a place in my heart where you so desire. Amen.

Neil
