New Life

As a new year begins, I begin to recollect and give thanks for the life I have been given. There are many things Im personally grateful for that happened in the previous year. In a nutshell, it was necessary to have gone through challenging and joyful experiences in the last 12 months.

Friends and family have enriched my life, while the opportunities to weather through occasional frustrations, anxieties and my own idiosyncrisis have somewhat made me a little more patient, resilient and humble. I began the previous year with much enthusiasm and having no serious thoughts to what I intend to accomplish by the end of the year. Towards the final few months of the year, I realised the possible cause of some of my frustrations - that Ive been searching for the inner treasure in numerous places and through numerous activities. Some were necessary, while some weren't.

With the new year, I pray for courage to trust that our Divine Maker will continue to write straight in crooked lines for me. I am uncertain what the new year will enfold. However, I am thankful that it is going to be a year of opportunities. Opportunities to realign my life's priorities to improve my spiritual life. Opportunities to improve relationships with family and friends; and opportunities to use God given talents for His glory.

The new year has begun well for me. Ive just pleasantly witness the Christening of my good friend's new born son yesterday. Its a blessing to have a new God-Son.
